Review available modular UPS series and the configuration details for your project.
What to confirm before selecting.
A few project details help narrow the suitable configurations.
Initial & future load
Provide the current operating load and expected growth to review the starting configuration and future requirements.
Capacity & redundancy
Define the usable capacity and redundancy requirement, then review the module and system limits.
Space & electrical layout
Confirm the available space, input/output arrangement, bypass requirements and access for maintenance.
Battery configuration
Specify the target runtime and load so compatible battery options can be reviewed alongside the UPS configuration.
PRODUCT QUESTIONS
Before you choose.
Answers to common Modular UPS selection and procurement questions.
Can a modular UPS be expanded later?
Expansion depends on the selected series, cabinet limits and supported configuration. Share your initial and future load so the available expansion path can be reviewed.
How should I describe a redundancy requirement?
State the load that must remain supported and the redundancy requirement in your project specification. The proposed module arrangement should be assessed against both.
Can I use existing batteries with a new modular UPS?
Compatibility must be checked. Provide the UPS model and the battery voltage, quantity, capacity, age and configuration for review.
What information is needed for a quotation?
Send the initial and future load, voltage and phase, redundancy requirement, backup time, available space and quantity. Include the specified series or tender documents where available.
Module capacity is different from system capacity
Check the rating of each power module, the number installed and the maximum supported by the cabinet. Any redundancy requirement reduces the capacity available to the protected load. Review the selected series before planning additional modules or batteries. Discuss UPS expansion and upgrades.
